Dream On #2

It is not a review nor a product intro, just an amazed expression when seeing these ads. When I can only dream for a lens which costs only a few hundreds bucks, the feeling is just like sitting on my creepy moped looking at a brand new Harley.

Bye Bye Local Magazine

It is quite a pity that there is no qualified local photography magazine here, at least so far I know. The only one I know, which is affiliated to famous international chain of computer magazine, is too general and casual. Covering a wide range area from cell-phone camera to camcorder. We can actually order or [...]

Best Lens Line-Up

As all of my lenses are now gone from the dry box, I am in serious research on deciding the new lens line-up. Actually I do keep the rather slow Nikkor AF-S DX 18-55mm ED f/4.5-5.6G and the ultra-wide Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX-DC HSM, which are the only lenses I have for the time being. [...]

MF Lenses are All Sold Out.

As primes, sharpness is at no question, distortions close to none, and bokeh is just as creamy as it could be. More than that, they are quite fast. As i do not [...]

How does One Leg Compares to Three?

I have spent quite a lot (could be peanut to most of us) to acquire sturdiness and flexibility of a Manfrotto. The more I use it, the happier I get. So unless I can afford a carbon-fiber version or a Gitzo, it will stay by my side. But it is 70cm long folded – [...]

Dream On!

As a photographer wannabe, lenses turn me on. Whilst I should honestly admit that I am just a novice hobbyist, I do understand the good and the bad (if there any) of certain lense characteristics, and how prices work. Just like male erection, it is all about length and width. The longer the focal length [...]

Portrait Photographer’s Handbook

Just arrived, amazon.com is a bit quicker lately when it started shipment from Germany instead of US. Order placed on Jan 8th arrived yesterday. Title is Portrait Photographer’s Handbook 3rd edition by Bill Hurter. Can’t comment so much about the content yet. Just can’t wait to the end of the day when I can freely [...]
