May sound complicated or felt like silly game of words. It is actually a simple human nature. Look into yourself and others nearby, and you will find it inherent to almost every human being. It is about being greedy, it is about thirst for material belongings. Something you will not bring along when you die. Read the rest of this entry »

Born and raised in a Moslem family we did not really appreciate birthdays, especially those at Christian calendar. When I grew older into more secular belief, I do not really hold on to it any longer. Still I did not really appreciate birthdays for different reasons. What is it to celebrate of getting older, getting weaker, and getting closer to your death whilst you haven’t done so much as you want? Draw back and contemplate is something better to do than party on a birthday. Read the rest of this entry »

It is not a review nor a product intro, just an amazed expression when seeing these ads. When I can only dream for a lens which costs only a few hundreds bucks, the feeling is just like sitting on my creepy moped looking at a brand new Harley. Read the rest of this entry »

As a photographer wannabe, lenses turn me on. Whilst I should honestly admit that I am just a novice hobbyist, I do understand the good and the bad (if there any) of certain lense characteristics, and how prices work. Just like male erection, it is all about length and width. The longer the focal length - especially beyond starting at 200mm - and the wider the opening, the more expensive they are. Whilst ideally what they can do is more important than the price, I should humbly say that to me price is the more important aspect. At least it is the one and only unbreakable barrier to have one. Sedih? Kecewa? Cepet-cepet nyari “mandi oli” buat mendongkrak posisi? Hmmm … kalau ini menyangkut website bisnis, pasti. Tapi kali ini saya malah seneng. Read the rest of this entry »

Teknik SEO Indonesia. I have been in long discussion with Keke (seokita.com), a friend who dedicates his career in SEO for … hmm, I am not sure how long. Well, at least as long as I know him, which is about 6 years. He has been trying to convince me about his theory which he thinks is going to be the future of SEO. Future? Well, okay, maybe not that dramatic. At least the new trend which will remain for at least a few next years … just like link-trading in the past. Read the rest of this entry »

It is quite a while ago when I found and read the book. It was actually the second book of Robin Sharma I read. There were a few more titles which I planned to buy after I finished this one. So unfortunate that the books were no longer available in any bookshops in town recently. Just lately coming up to my mind as I am facing an even worse feeling about my life. Pressure for job, business, bosses, colleagues, clients, spouse, I just feel like there is no more space for me to breath, all in all feels like … it is just not the life I want. Sounds an extremely rude sentence. But sometimes it just really at the end of my tongue, ready to jump out. Imagine that you are dancing among numerous top priority items. You gave an instruction to one of your staff to work on one of them. You give them clear instructions. You are forced to wait a few days to allow him to complete it. When he finally comes back, he comes with something completely different from what you want. You start complaining telling him that it is completely different from what you agreed with the client therefore expect to get. He bluntly replied telling that he understand this but HE THINKS the way he does is much better.
With all do respect to his good will in giving me back something which is even better than what I asked, it is completely deteriorating. What do I have to tell the client? “Another few days because of technical reasons which we did not predict before?” Whilst I appreciate inputs, I would expect that if he thinks of something different but better than what I instructed, he should have discussed it with me before spending time to implement it. It is a surprise, damn right. Unfortunately a bad one.
I do want my people to think and express their opinion. Maybe they have something better than what I have in mind. I am open for discussion. But … No surprises please.
